I'm wondering if I should wait for the new AMD Zen CPUs to come out or should I buy an FX series right now

Wait for zen. FX was dead like a year ago.

yes and no, they haven't made any knew ones because of zen, BUT if you can not afford a new Mobo Ram and CPU, then just either wait or upgrade the CPU. it doesn't make it dead as long as the CPU's are available, just there is no advancement

Would it be worth it to grab a fx series when they go cheap? @ArcThanatos

i dont see why not, i mean they aren't the worst chips, they might not be the best, but if you want to get a bit more out of an existing system and or learn to overclock then it would be defiantly worth looking at doing. it will come down to what you want and your coin in your pocket.

give me a w W give me an A give me an I give me a t whats that spell WAIT WAIT WAIT ;)

waiting yess is a good idea in either case, either you can get a cheaper FX and use an exsisting system, wait for the Zen users to find the bugs and issues or faults, wait for them to be resolved and be slightly cheaper and get a zen, or FX could drop price and turn out to be a decent thing to get and upgrade later on.

in any case, waiting is the answer here, the choice will be more clear on what to buy when zen is released.

FX series are still a good option for things like basic work PC, common family PC, HTPC, and even basic servers and maybe even a backup or low budget gaming PC; Im running an emby media server on an AMD Athlon 5350 and it works wonderfully with multiple connections at the same time. But as far as high-end gaming goes, Intel is the go to and only brand.
