Newegg Ontrac

Having been screwed by ontrac yet again(I have never gotten a package on time with these guys), I called Newegg to get my shipping refunded. Not sure this is going to happen, but I did find out that you can actually block shipping from specific carriers with Newegg.

 

I don't know what effect this will have on my future shipping rates, all I know is I'm overjoyed to be rid of Ontrac.

 

I post this in the hope that it may help others and would like to encourage others to do as I have.

 

If you have been screwed by Ontrac, send them a message and request that your retailer not ship your purchases with them.

I buy stuff online from Best Buy and they use Ontrac. My stuff arrives on time every time, so far anyway.

I use ontrac all the time from newegg and my dad gets stuff from other place and they all get here fine. I live in norcal so that may be some of it

So, what's the secret handshake?

 

The stuff I order from newegg always comes out of Commerce, CA to San Diego(about 80 miles) and then sits in Ontrac's warehouse for two, three days or longer.

 

I contacted Ontrac three times today, was told twice it would be delivered on time and then on the third call ops were sorry see you on friday.

Are you using the Newegg super saver or whatever it is? Because I'm almost certain they use UPS or FedEx for three or less day deliveries

Nope, paid three day.

 

Seems to be luck of the draw, whenever they ship UPS, FEDX or Even USPS it gets here on time if not early.

If you paid for three day, you should get it in three days. Not including the day you ordered it if after shipping time.

I dunno what I do to appease the shipping gods.

 

But I'm pretty sure legally if it hasn't technically left the warehouse, it's not being delivered or something. So it's not under the whole "it'll get there in three days" Still wouldn't hurt to complain.

 

Or buy your parts from Amazon. I made some poor sap drive from Los Vegas to SoCal overnight.

I think you misunderstood, the packages leave Newegg and then sit in Ontrac's facility.

 

I have the same problem with Amazon when they ship with Ontrac.

Whatever you are doing keep it up, I must have committed some kind of Ontrac shipping sin.

Maybe that's still technically not shipped? Unless Newegg says "shipped".

 

I dunno, I don't really get upset about shipping unless it's really late (like I had a package from Japan sitting in San Francisco for a week after waiting two when it said it was in Japan), or they claimed it was delivered when it wasn't.

Both companies agreed with me that I should have had my package yesterday, Newegg was apologetic while Ontrac made excuses. Lack of manpower this, overwhelmed system that, not my problem I paid. I didn't receive.

 

Idk, feel like the value of online retail isn't really all that valuable to me any more. Might as well go to the box store, pay a little more and have my merchandise in hand when I hand over my money.

It's that time of the year. FedEx guy dropped off some surgical tools this morning and his truck was 70% full even though I'm usually his last location on his route.

Yep, I see UPS, FEDX working overtime this time of the year also, never have seen an Ontrac truck out after dark.

Well after several promises Here it is Friday no package, gave Ontrac yet another call and guess what, more excuses.

 

Newegg did refund my shipping cost and now they are going to refund my order in total as I told Ontrac to get bent and send my purchase back to Newegg.

 

Newegg has been great other than a little run around.

 

Sux, I really wanted that RAIJINTEK MORPHEUS II CORE EDITION, instead I'll be getting a  ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme III from Amazon for about than half the cost. Hope that doesn't mean half the performance?

ontrac makes sense as a shipping company, the name implies ON TRACK
