New Build because fire is bad......

Peebojam

Hello everyone,

Recently had a house fire and won't be back into my home for another 5 months (I've been out of it for 6 months already). One good thing out of this ordeal, however, is the fact I get to build a new pc and wifey is pushing me to build my dream system since it's been a trying year. SO, with that out of the way I'm going to try and keep the build under 4500 (plan on grabbing a Vive or Oculus as well). I'm a sucker for a clean white theme and I'm loving the tempered glass rave right now. So this is what I've got so far. Looking for feedback and suggestions to either increase performance or reduce cost.

Thanks in advance!

You should get an AMD chip

Burn your house down again

Blame it on the budget

Then make your wife allow you to spend more money on your system

That would've been funny 5 years ago.

Honestly, OP, I would just skip the 850 EVO entirely and get some 2TB hard drive instead. That's just me though, so if you don't feel like it, you don't have to.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

I was thinking a large hdd would reduce game performance (which is what the 850 would be storing). Moved my photos and video to cloud services and mostly stream movies now so I don't need much storage.

However if HDD's don't really effect gameplay, I'd likely move that direction.

Other than looks the difference between the x61 and x62 are minimal.

OP look into a better mouse like a Mionix Castor, Steelseriss Rival/300, Zowie FK2, or a Logitech G403 Prodigy

Does anyone know (or is there a video on) the difference of the X61 (or x62) vs the X41?

Well you're spending $4500 on a system so it would definitely be worth it to get an 850 EVO for better boot times and a possible RAID operation in the future.

Actually with that sort of budget I wouldn't be shocked to find a NAS in your home especially a fire proof one since you could use it to store multiple HDDs and use it for multiple devices (Laptops, Phones Etc. and fire is bad) Furthermore it may be nice to wait a bit for the new Intel Kabylake line or AMD's Zen (bad jokes aside they could actually be pretty good) coming soon if the prices are good enough.
