£700 Build

A friend of mine wants to get into PC gaming. He has a budget of £700 (give or take a bit). I've looked at certain parts but can't really get it around the price mark. He hasn't given much information on what games he wants to play, so I'm trying to go for something he can easily upgrade but isn't insanely powerful for now.

 

Here's what I'm thinking:

 

An i5 CPU

2-4 GB VRAM GPU

8 GB RAM

 

He wants the theme to be red and black. I'm going to keep looking at parts, but if you guys want to paste some PC part picker builds in the reply, would be very grateful!

msi Z170- great upgrade path and is red and black, for i5-6600k/i7-6700k or the upcoming kabylake equivalenets

1tb hdd should be plenty, can get ssd later

great gpu for 1080p60, with a good cooler

good starter case, has good options

ram, its nothing special,
