BIOS update questions

So on the MSI page https://ca.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-bios you can see the BIOS updates. My question is does the most recent BIOS update include all the others? It's size is smaller than the last one, so logically, does that mean it doesn't include it and I gotta DL em all?

Each version contains the previous version's changes.

 

However I would advise updating the BIOS just because. If your system works fine, you do not need a BIOS update.

That's what I figured but how can it be smaller size. It's not like if we achieved some crazy file compression technology in the between the time the updates were uploaded.

They're all in about 6MB.  They're in Zip files and the exact compression ratio of a ZIP file varies depending on how compressible the data is.  Different BIOS images would have different data.  There's nothing out of the wild here, they're all within like a 300Kb or so range after all, I don't even get where you are getting 'Crazy file compression technology' here.

Latest has everything. In very rare cases you might need to have previous version before newest can be installed. Like with my old mobo. Went F5 -> F8 -> F9.
