Advise on the needed PSU

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

For your system I'd sell the NEX and get an EVGA GQ. Thing is your system is very good yet doesn't have an SSD. Maybe just keep your PSU and not take a loss on it and buy a 120GB SSD so your system doesn't slow down over time.

Im building up my pc, but while doing so, i found that some people say that this EVGA NEX 650W is not a good option for a high end PC and as a PSU noob, i don't know much more than the PSU is which supplies electric energy to our pc components, but the thing is the estability don't know how much reliable this would be considering i'm using my pc for architecture tasks,be using design programs like: Revit, Autocad, Adobe's suite, 3DMax, Lumion, ect and for gaming.

Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply 1

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm Fans

Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case 2

KNOWING THAT....

1- Need your advise because i already bought the psu but in case is not adecuate for my intentions i pretend to sell it and get one better in the 90 to 100$ budget.

2- Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case. is this case fine for  my components?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

So considering i won't do Sli, do you think things gonna be fine with this configuration having the NEX as PSU?, and for that reason it's worth invest in a SSD instead of get rid of the NEX, right? or do you suggest get rid of the NEX and get a SSD too?

That PSU is OK for that build. It is build reasonable enough to not kill your pc. I wouldnt recommend powering anything higher-end/more power-consuming on there, as it goes out of atx spec if the rails are not evenly loaded (any modern pc these days).

I'd get rid of the NEX, make some of your money back, get like a 120GB SSD perhaps and do what you will with the new PSU.
