Thinking about buying a wii u but i dont know if it supports my monitor

Yea, it will work. At Smash Wii U tournaments they use HDMI gaming monitors too and there is no reason yours shouldn't work.

yeah only thing is my monitor does not have a hdmi and i have heard that most monitors only support hdmi out will an adapter work ?

 

Edit: ignore that output only thing but will an adapter work in this case ?

Oh yeah, forgot that monitor only has DVI and VGA.

A HDMI to DVI cable/adapter will work, you just need to figure out how to get sound, since standard monitors don't do anything with sound when connected via DVI
