Cheap DIY Razer Core Alternative?

So I was planning on buying a Razer blade stealth and wanted to get the Razer Core to go along with it for some gaming, but the $500 price tag is way too much. I was wondering if there was any way I could make a similar enclosure to the razer core out of a smaller PC case that could connect through the laptop's thunderbolt 3 port(which would cost much less). If it can be done, do you know what specific parts I would need besides the GPU and power supply?

Akitio is gonna release their ''akitio node'' for 300 us. It will be connected to laptop via thunderbolt3. BUT, Bios manufacturer must enabled egpu feature (or something like that) for it to properly work. Anyway, exept for razer, there s alienware with their proprietary egpu. Egpu just isnt a ''thing'' right now. So just wait and hope :/
