Best CPU for 3D work?

What would be the best CPU for doing 3D Modeling, Animation, Texturing, and Rendering? Would the i7 - 6700K work fine or would I want something with more cores? I also do want to game so a good CPU is still nice to have and I know that the 6700K is the currently best one in that regard.

Best is the 6950X, or one of the $7000 xeons if you programs can use 44 threads.

But yeah the 6700k will work fine, maybe 6800k instead depending on the programs you use and if they have good multithreading support.

The 6850 has more PCIe lanes for supporting more GPU's and expansion cards. Not necessary for your purpose.
