Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade/modify my PC to best fit video editing and 3d rendering. At the moment I'm only doing basic Ray-Traced 3D renders, but bumping up the quality to minimise aliasing. As my projects develop past usual wedding/band promotion video I am looking to upgrade.

My current build was made mainly for gaming/all round, I don't know a lot about building PCs, just enough to build something mainstream and good for what I needed at the time:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K @ 3.40Ghz

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING Twin Frozr V 4GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

RAM: Crucial BLT4G3D1869DT2TXOBCEU 8GB DDR3 1866 MT/s

HDD: 1 - Toshiba 1TB 3.5" SATA Desktop Hard Drive x2

          2 - Samsung SSD 850 Evo 250GB (OS/Some adobe programs)

PSU: Corsair CXM 750W Semi Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX Motherboard - LGA1150 Socket

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Programs I use are mainly Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Davinci Resolve 12.

What's a good path to take?

Let me know if you'd need anymore info.

Thanks for all your help!

PS_ Any monitor recommendations you could through in would be great, just currently using an old AOC 27" that gives me eye strain after 8+ hours of work.

I would recommend a amd firepro/nvidia quadro if you programs you use can take advantage of them, look up comparasins first occasionally some consumer cards are faster.

An i7 4790k, or other haswell i7, and another 8gb of ram would be some simple improvements.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •
