Best GPU Recommendations?

Spev

Hello friends,

It's been some time since I've frequented these forums, or followed tech releases closely for that matter. I'm still rocking my water cooled GTX980 but am looking to upgrade this black friday if I can snag a sweet deal. Anyone mind breaking down the best GPU releases out there right now for me? I am aware of 1060, 1070, and 1080, although I haven't had a chance to check out the specs in much detail yet. If someone could share some insight or recommendations that would be great especially with relation to my current GPU. Cheers.

Current PC build: [CPU: Intel i7 8700k] [GPU: GTX 1070 Asus ROG Strix] [Ram: Corsair LPX 32GB 3000MHz] [Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A] [SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB primary + Samsung 860 Evo 1TB secondary] [PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750w 80plus] [Monitors: Dual Dell Ultrasharp U2718Qs, 4k IPS] [Case: Fractal Design R5]

The only nice upgrade would only be a 1070 or 1080 or get another 980 (most likely not). Assuming you have 4790k in your sig

To be honest the 1070 is like $300 LESS than the 1080...and the 1080 doesn't seem like it's all that much better...the 1070 can be had for $400...is a little more performance worth a 75% price addition? The 1070 looking nice.

x80 class cards were never great deals though...

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Fair enough. The 1070 seems like a pretty good upgrade from the 980. 1080 seems like a bad deal & I really don't care about the slight extra performance for $300 dollars. I will keep a lookout for a good 1070 deal this black friday.
