I personally don't but some of my friends have one plus devices and have never had any issues.

I've been using a Galaxy S7 as my daily since it's release, and i can say that touchwiz is not what it used to be( in a good way!)

It's light, fairly debloated and actually runs smoother than my rooted, custom flashed and overclocked HTC One with a stock android ROM.

Imo, it's definitely the best phone i've ever had.

Well gotta check between the mentioned phones. No idea how oneplus is with updates but it seems they changed to stock android? So maybe updates straight with google?
Even though Touchwiz appears to be unbloated and quicker I fear they sill take ages to do an update on software, (Sony shocked me on that one)

I won't rule it out however.

The moto x style hid from my radar so that's an all new phone to consider. :P

So more out of curiosity, than out of need:

I'm using a ~2,5 year old sony z3 compact myself that serves me faithfully, although I feel a decrease in battery life (duh) and it got a bit slower lately.

Also, Android 6 came out in June I think, when android 7 was just around the corner so I don't think android 7 will come to my sony.

I'm looking for a phone with stock android (or as close to as possible) with a preferably long span of updates, decent speccs (not gaming) and a good camera.

I'm doing quite a few of videos so that is actually required. My z3c does decent but not overwhelmingly good. iphone does better, as well as samsung.

iphone is too expensive (would be an option otherwise, I'm not biased against it, not even with the 7, though they make it even more hipster)

Samsungs S7 would be high in ranking if not for their touchwiz, which completly ruined the Galaxy S5 which I had and sold for the sony.

Battery life is also important. I use it quite a lot throughout the day and have 5 or so email accounts with push (of which 3 of them frequent around 10 mails per day average).

Google's new pixel is too expensive at the moment and I'm afraid it will take some time (if at all) until it drops in price.

Any advice? :)

Latest versions of touchwiz aren't as heavy as they used to be. So personally wouldn't rule out that. My daily driver is a nexus 6p which has seen a reasonable price drop since the pixel was released, I personally don't use the camera on my Nexus a lot but I don't think its particularly terrible. Performance is really good and it runs stock android however.

I think the Moto X Pure would fit this description very well, plus it's pretty darn cheap right now. Possibly the best value at it's price point.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

I looked at the nexus 6p and while photos are good, the camera seems to have some troubles with video. The S7 keeps coming back up. ^^

Seems almost like an obvious choice, don't know how I've missed that. Any experience with warranty on oneplus?

Pricing however is a thing here. I'm in germany and the oneplus is 430€.

Haven't heard if the "pure" one. Gotta check that.

Edit: Seems as the pure edition is not available here in germany. Looks awesome, though. >:O

I think it's amazing for the price. Near stock Android, updates come directly from Motorola/Lenovo without carrier approval needed, it has a 21 MP camera that takes very good shots during the day, it's so so at night. It starts at $290 US (appears to be more than the straight conversion of 270 Euro in Germany)

I own several smartphones, including two Moto X Pures. :P If you have any further questions about the Pure/Style (same device) ask me! Otherwise, I think the One Plus 3 is a good competitor in this price range, though I still prefer the Pure.

One plus uses Oxygen OS, 7.1 is released on the one plus 3 in December. There is a one plus 3T which ships with 7.1 now. (it's slightly more expensive)

Keep it up and you might just convince me to do that instead.

How is CyanogenMod wih power saving features and stuff?

Since Android 6 got released I am quite pleased with the battery life saving in standby (for me the feature from google actually works :P)

The phone being a bit snappier would be nice but not really if the cost would be battery life.
Also, in regards to reselling it ... not so sure.

its basically stock android but better, its worth a try if ur in the mindset of getting a new phone (just incase it goes wrong or something)

it does vary from phone to phone as some cyanogen devs are more active than others.
