Nvidia GeForce Experience causing problems?

This is relevant to both graphics cards and software so I wasn't sure where to post this but..

 

i5 6500

8gb ddr4

GTX 1060 6GB

PNY SSD as boot and storage drive

 

Tabbing in and out of games used to be instant. The problem I'm having is that I just installed the Nvidia GeForce Experience and it's now taking about 5 seconds to tab in or out of a game whether or not the program is open. Graphics drivers are up to date. This just started after installing the GeForce Experience. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It may not be Nvidia's fault. The primary handler for the process could be Steam which has to coordinate with GFE or vice versa. See if uninstalling changes anything.
