Okay, after looking through I found this,

https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SSLRSONA200C#.WCodzlWLTIU

I believe this has manual control over everything. How much am I looking at for a good lens. I have no idea about lenses.

Honestly, you would be much better off going for a Canon 700d, Nikon D3300 or D5300 in a lens kit. With photography you get what you pay for and no more. Also, learn to use the camera first before considering a lens, the 18-55 provided with most kits is very capable.

Good luck!

Don't get a Sony, go for a Canon or a Nikon. If you get a decent body, then a kit lens is dirt cheap. Most people sell them off once they master the basics. You don't need a "good" lens if you're just starting out, basic kit lens will do.

Shouldn't be more than 40 pound new. At least that's what they go for on the used market here.

Just make sure the body doesn't have a huge shutter count. They don't last forever.

Haha no. If you're learning it's too annoying going through all the menus for basic settings.

I fully disagree with this.

You don't have to get a newer camera to take excellent shots. I have friends that get published using D90's etc.

Older cameras, if you're just starting out, are more than acceptable. There's no need to spend 3 or 4 times the amount on a newer body.

Okay. This helped. Looking at the https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SDIGCAN350D1855#.WCokLlWLTIU. Does that lens have manual focus? I can't tell.

Pretty much everything will have manual focus.

I'd consider this instead:

https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SDIGNIKD3000BOD#.WCpGXck9tcI

Or

https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SDIGNIKD80BOA#.WCpI38k9tcI

And

https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SLENSNIK50F18D#.WCpHWMk9tcI

I'd go for the D80, as it has the top mount LCD.

I'd like to point out that using manual focus on modern digital slr cameras isn't "learning", it's suffering. They're not designed for it, the viewfinders on non-pro bodies are small and dim, they don't have microprisms and split prisms to help you, most consumer lenses have terrible focusing rings even if you use live view and focus peaking, etc.

What you're supposed to learn on a digital slr is how to get the AF system to work for you. If you want to learn how to work with manual focus, buy a used Nikon F3 and learn on that.

Definitely, modern digital cameras are not really meant for MF.  Especially entry level bodies that have smaller VF than FF bodies.
