This will probably be the most hilariously stupid question you’ll ever read on this forum. Brace yourselves.

I’ve had a problem for the last year or so, and I cannot find a DIY solution anywhere online, so I thought I’d ask LTT because the Whole Room Water Cooling series is sort of similar to what I want to try to jury rig together.

I use a recliner as my computer chair. It’s really comfy and a perfect fit with the desk I have. The problem is that during the summer the chair gets really hot, especially after some long, game-binging sessions. What I’m wondering is: Is it possible to water cool a recliner like a PC? How would you configure the loop(s)? What power supply, pump, reservoir and radiators would you use? Would the cool water in (what I would presume to be) the copper tubing be enough, or would I have to make some kind of weird, DIY ‘heatsink’ for my back and butt? Anyway, I’m ready for any flak that’s going to come my way for asking. Who knows, maybe they’ll make an episode out of it! xD

A much simpler solution would be to buy a wooden seat cushion:

But to answer your question: Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can water cool a chair.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X            | Cooler: Deepcool AK400  | Motherboard: B550 Elite AX V2  | Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB  |

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB   | GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti    | Case: NZXT H440 (Red/Black)    | PSU: EVGA 650W G2             |

I'm not sure if this goes in "Liquid and Exotic Cooling" or not...

Anyway, for any sort of cushion I think it would be best to use flexible tubing, but I think you'd have to use relatively thin tubing for it to do all that much (though I might be wrong).

As for the pump, I think you could just use a D5 on a Molex to AC adapter, perhaps two since the loop would be so long (though, again, I could be wrong, I'm hoping someone more familiar with water cooling fact-checks me).

To be honest, though, it would make bugger all difference. You'd be better off getting a new chair.

"Do as I say, not as I do."

-Because you actually care if it makes sense.
