you know, thinking about this, i havent seen dedicated music playing devices on shelves in ages o.O

that aside, after having torn apart some cheapy MP3 players, i'm gonna recommend looking into an iPod shuffle if that's within budget.

Take your pick.

Pre-post edit?: I just noticed you have a tight budget. I guess maybe the best you could do would be an iPod Shuffle

MP3 maunufacturers arent shy for recharging lithium batteries straight off 5 volts, because that's how that works right?

Consider the following:

At your pricepoint it's kind of hard to find a decent one.

I wouldn't get the Shuffle, simply because it lacks a screen.

I loved my shuffle ('till I lost it.) If you properly load it with songs, you don't need a screen.

The clip on it is great, and allows you to wear it during almost anything without it being stuck in your pocket the whole time.

I disagree, especially since you can get a 6G Nano that's the same size with a screen, but good to hear it works for some.

Ah, didn't know the nano was the same price.

In all honesty though, I hate mp3 players with screens. I like to be able to control it by feel, without having to look at it. Again, that's completely personal. It depends on what you want to use it for.

Touch screens make it impossible to control without looking at it. If you run your finger across the screen, you'll accidently hit 18 different buttons.

They're not, but you can easily find the older small Nano for cheap.

You don't have to use the screen? If you double tap the power button it goes to the next track. I think there's button shortcuts for going back as well.

I will chalk up that in the "Things I didn't know" list.

Thanks!
