nas DS216+II, DS216play or DS216J

Hi LTT forum.

 

I have been looking on DS216+II, DS216play or DS216J. But i don't know what there will be best to buy for me.

 

What I need:

• MySQL Server
• Web Server
• Node.js
• Cloud backup (Dropbox supported)
• VPN server
• Media Server (Chromecast supported)
• Shared folders

 

What there will be nice to have:

• E-mail server
• Beckup server
• SSH support
• Print server
• Wake on lan
• VPN support

I will prefer best performance for the price, but i don't want to pay less and get slow performance just because the performance is best for the price.

i personally use a DS215+ and have it running 24/7 all the time and it has never skipped a beat once. i can wholeheartedly recommend a synology nas. i would go with the +II as it has better features.

Thanks, but is the extra amount of money on DS216+II worth it, over the cheaper DS216play.

Right now I am looking at the same decision as the topic opener. Has anybody input more input on this?
