Hello everyone! I've recently built a new pc however it will not post. The motherboard lights up and the fans start spinning. The GPU led also turns on. I've plugged in the cpu power, 24 pin power, front panel headers, hd audio, usb 3, fans, and all but I don't get an hdmi or dvi signal. I've already RMA'd the motherboard once and still no good. I've tried only using 1 stick of ram and switching the ram slots (I only have 1 set of ddr4), unplugging the gpu and pluging the hdmi straight into the motherboard as opposed to the gpu. The only thing I can think of would be that I have a bad cpu or ram, but I have no way to tell. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take gpu or of case. Test if you get a connection on integrated.

if that doesn't work leave gpu out and then to the rank stick test.  If that doesn't work.  You have 2 choices mobo or CPU.  Hopefully mobo again.  If you could someone afford to buy a cheaper maybe 40 dollar mobo for your copy and find out then you will prolly save money doing that.

I've taken the gpu outta the case already. What do you mean by rank stick test? Also everything is still under warranty so I can replace anything within the next week or so. I'm just kinda tired of waiting.

I wrote a guide for that, you can check it out in my signature :)

The first step is always moving the computer outside the case and into a non-conductive environment.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

It could be the cpu or mobo again; why did you rule out ram?

Most likely isn't ram if you already checked it.   I really think it is your CPU not seated properly.  Just take your heat sink off if you have more thermal paste left.  Then take out your CPU.  I think the pins are on your mobo if I'm correct so make sure no thermal paste is in the CPU and on the mobo.  Also make sure your CPU fan is plugged in.  Also check and make sure both CPU power plugs are in.  Or that the plugs that are plugged into the CPU plugs on mobo are actually CPU plugs, because the graphics card power is the same shape.

Snip

Your motherboard has several on board features that could be of use to us....

1. try using your second BIOS and/or clearing CMOS. Replacement boards do not always come stock settings included (i recently got an RMA for my Z170-A from Asus, and it had some RAM speed adjustment settings on it which were not stock settings. Your board may be experiencing a similar phenomenon and it may be preventing a boot.

2. Make sure you don't have your motherboard's "OC" or "ECO" on board buttons activated. these buttons are designed for K skew chips and apply OC settings which will not be applicable to a 6100 and would very easily cause issues.

3. Your board has an on board LED number generator for when you have issues. Are your codes being displayed? look up the codes in your motherboard manual to determine what the source of your issues are.

4. Your motherboard has a Q-Flash feature, which allows you to update your BIOS completely independent of your hardware... it may be worth checking out how it works and seeing if you could BIOS update regardless of boot issues (you can BIOS update their X99 boards with this feature in order to make them Broadwell-E compatible, without first needing a Haswell-E chip in order to get the machine started and functioning, so this COULD work).

I find it highly unlikely that BOTH motherboards are inoperable, although its not completely impossible. Its also unlikely that both of your DIMM sticks are inoperable (its not exactly uncommon to occasionally receive a bad module, but to receive a bad pair is much less frequent). These are just ideas, and i'm by no means an expert in troubleshooting, but let me know how it goes for you.

This might be it, I once had a system at school, a old junk pc. It had some random brand PSU and no matter what, id change motherboard, ram, cpu, hdd, everything and the thing would never post. Then one day after googling, i read it might be the power supply which i had never even thought of, even my teacher thought i was crazy. But i went ahead and swapped it out with a old, but still new in the box power supply which we had gotten a big shipment in from a district warehouse. Swapped it out, hit the button and it posted. So maybe there is a chance its your power supply. It might seem strange with your fans spinning and lights on, but the one in my situation did the exact same thing. So if you can get another power supply from somewhere maybe and test it, that might be your issue.

Custom Rig: FX-8350 4GHz, MSI GTX 1060 6g Gaming X, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, 16GB Hyperx Fury 2x8GB 1866MHz, Samsung 240GB 850 EVO SSD, 3TB WD Blue 5400RPM, Evga 850W G2 Psu, Gigabyte AM3+ Micro Atx Motherboard, Corsair Spec 01

Laptop: Asus ROG GL502VM, i7 6700HQ, GTX 1060, 16GB DDR4, 240 Toshiba M.2 SSD, 1TB HDD

Sorry for the late reply, I don't have a lot of time to work on my computer. Anyways, the "OC" and "ECO" buttons on the board are lit up however the LED number generator doesn't even turn on. I don't really know what this means and I couldn't really find anything on in it in the manual or web. Do you know what this means?

if there is no code whatsoever, then chances are you have a failure somewhere in your system which prevents it from booting properly. contact Gigabyte if you need better information on what the causes of that could be... try removing all devices attached to your motherboard with the exception of your CPU, cooler, and 1 RAM stick (be sure to test both RAM stick in this configuration since only one of them may be the issue) in the outside slot . this includes any M.2, mouse/keyboard, Sata devices, wifi, video card, internal headers, everything!. when you have everything that is non-essential disconnected, try booting the system again and see if the system can post or if the board begins spitting out a code for you, then begin adding the devices back 1 by 1... and when you encounter your problem again, then you know which device(s) is the issue (it could also be other things such as the cord it is attached to or a bad port) and then you can begin figuring out where to go from there. If that step doesn't work, then your problem lies within either your PSU, RAM, CPU, or MOBO... it is unlikely to directly be your PSU if your system IS powering on, and without replacement parts its almost impossible to specifically diagnose any of the other 3 as the cause, at least I have no way of knowing how to do that.... perhaps your own research or contact with Gigabyte could be of assistance to you. You should also consider updating your BIOS via the Q-flash feature if you can, since a bad BIOS could cause all sorts of issues.
