In-line mic on PC

So I bought the aforementioned headphones and they come with an adapter for the computer which splits to an audio and microphone jack. The problem is however, that the microphone does not work even though the jack from the adapter is detected. I'm unsure if it's the cable's fault as the audio works just as if I plugged the headphones directly into the computer. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Exactly like it, upon further testing it seems that the microphone DOES function, however the answer call button works as a push-to-talk button and for some reason doesn't work with Discord at all, any way around this? Push to talk is pretty annoying in my opinion during voice calls
