Hello everybody.

I was planing on using a MSI A68HM Grenade Motherboard with a MSI GTX 1050 2GB OC GPU and Also a TP-Link TL-WN781ND but I am not sure if the GPU wouldn't block the slot for the WIFI Card.

Motherboard:  https://msi.com/Motherboard/A68HM-GRENADE.html#hero-overview

GPU:     https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1050-2G-OC.html#hero-overview

Wi-Fi Card:    http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-11_TL-WN781ND.html

Can anyone tell me if

1) The Gpu would block the PCI slot or not and

2) If the Wifi Card could possibly be put in the other PCI Slot aka the PCIe 2.0 x1 slot.

I am unfortunately still new at pc parts so I am not sure if I could use all these parts together and any help with this question is very appreciated. Thank you for the answers and I hope you have a nice Day.

put GPU in top slot. middle slot will be covered by GPU. putting wifi in bottom slot is ok

Not true, I think... It will not fit. The GPU will block the PCI-e 1x slot. The WiFi card is PCI Express interface, not PCI... As far as I know, PCI-e won't fit in a PCI slot.

*EDIT: fixed some bad copy-paste.

Thank you all for the answers so far. My original plan was to use the gpu at the top PCIe slot and the gpu would block the normal PCI slot aka in the middle but I am not sure If I can use the wifi car at the bottom pcieslot. The site says

TL-WN781ND Wireless N PCI Express(x1) Adapter provides a wider compatibility, fitting with any standard PCI Express slot, x1, x2, x8, or x16.

I wasn't sure if that means that the bottom PCIe slot on my mobo which seems to be PCIe 2.0 X1 Slot can be used for my wifi card and if it can, if it won't be blocked by my GPU. I am still new to parts and that is why I asked this.

If you really like that wireless network card for some reason (maybe wireless router is far away and the antenna helps), you could buy pci-e x1 riser cable .. you plug the strip in the pci-e x slot and then let the ribbon cable go over the pci slot and install the network card right below the last pci slot , if your computer case is tall enough.

Here's examples of such cables: link 1  , link 2 , link 3

If you don't like having such ribbon cables in your computers, or your wireless router is close to your computer, then you could just get rid of that wireless card and buy a usb wireless card - you can find such cards on eBay from around 2.5$ or in regular stores from around 5$ (here's one on Amazon for 8$ )  and they're almost as good or just as good in performance..

It can't fit. The slot is clearly different. That WiFi card will not work in that board with a dual slot graphics card also installed.

According to wikipedia the a68 has additional X4 pcie lanes so it wont block your gpu.

But i could be wrong..i am summoning @Godlygamer23 i hope he can help.

The dual slot graphics card will block the PCIe x1 slot, and therefore the WiFi card will not work natively.
