Im not too bothered which card i get, could even go green

Im more interested in getting the max value per £

the msi 470 4GB is £180 and sapphire 480 8GB is £245

is the latter worth the extra £65 ?

You can watch this and possibly make some conclusions.

Hey guys

Im upgrading my 280x and I play mainly Battlefield 1 at the moment and play at 1440p

I have a budget of around £200 so far in the budget is

MSI Gaming RX470 4GB - £180

sapphire RX470 8GB nitro+ - £210

sapphire RX480 4GB nitro+ - £210

sapphire RX480 8GB - £230 -  standard cooler

What do you guys think ? is the extra memory worth it ? or the custom cooler ?

The only time extra memory is worth it is when you need it.
4GB is plenty....until you run out :P

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

for £245 I can get the Sapphire RX480 8GB with the Nitro+ cooler

Iv only ever had Asus gaming graphics cards. will the Sapphire be similar

I cant see it being much different

Sapphire is the best brand for AMD cards. Get the 8GB one if you're willing to spend more.

Well out of all those, I would pick RX 480.

It can be even 4GB version ... you won't benefit THAT much from additional 4GB.

But keep in mind that RX 480 is 1080p card.

So you will have to turn down some settings to get 60fps at 1440p.

There is little difference between stock clocked 470's and 480's. Some aftermarket ones can differentiate it some..

I just built a i5 6400+8GB 2133Mhz++MSI RX470 4GB combo, and in 1080p, it was flawless 99-100% GPU Usage across the board,...with many heavier titles (All Ultra) were pushing 55-75fps and lighter games were 60 locked> or 70-100fps (Still Ultra)

Just some food for thought...

The MSI/Sapphire cards seem the obvious choices too.

Have a look at RX470 VS RX480 aftermarket card comparisons if your leaning towards AMD for a GPU.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Get the 480 4GB. More powerful than a 470 and makes more sense. Also, please quote people using the arrow button to let them know you've replied.
