I'm about to build my first PC (omg i'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!)  and I want to know if there is anything I can do to improve my build. The only things I won't change are the graphics card, wifi card, memory, and case. I was wondering if there would be any ways I can improve my build. It's going to be for light 1080p video editing and picture editing. But mostly, hardcore gaming. I want this build to be as good as possible while still staying within the $750 budget that my brother will pay for (I'm too young to get a job.) So, any reccomendations or tips? Should I switch my CPU or anything like that?

Looks like a really nice build for cutting power to cut the price. Maybe downgrade to the CX430 because it is almost the same for half the price after MIR.

The Devestator 2 mouse wheel squeaks a bit, but otherwise it's good value for money. I'd try go to a B150 board but that one is fine too. And unless you really need the space, a 256gb SSD make a big difference in how snappy the PC feels

No need for a 6600, a 6500 would be fine

WD red for more redness? Rest is fine

I will be happy either way, but if there is no noticeable difference, then I'll change it. Isn't the WD red more expensive? I'm not actually sure lol

Okay, I'll definitely do that. I think where I live they are the exact same price though

I think that any modern build should look to have an SSD for booting OS and (most played) game storage. Linus has said so as well for some time now. So maybe look into that!

Also I agree that an if you are not planning to overclock and i5 6500 would be enough, almost no difference with the 6600 non-k (assuming you don't want the k)

Lastly if you're hard core gaming maybe you should invest in setting up a wired internet connection to your pc, maybe the cable and installation will cost you less then the wireless card.

Personal Rig:

[UPGRADE]

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X    Mb: Gigabyte X570 Gaming X    RAM: 2x16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance Pro    GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA RTX 3070    Case: Corsair 400D    Storage: INTEL SSDSCKJW120H6 M.2 120GB    PSU: Antec 850W 80+ Gold    Display(s): GAOO, 现代e窗, Samsung 4K TV

Cooling: Noctua NH-D15    Operating System(s): Windows 10 / Arch Linux / Garuda

[OLD]

I really do want a wired connection, but the PC will be in my room, and my router is all the way downstairs in the living room. I'm hoping to have a wired connection when my family moves to a different house. The SSD will most definitely be an upgrade, but it goes over-budget.  I have also switched to the 6500 thanks to you and everybody else here.

also do note that the red on the mobo is only the slot. when you plug stuff in the red is no longer visible. just a good info

Where I live at least it costs about the same to get a network card as to have a cable run by someone. If you just toss it out the window to the router it'll be much cheaper than wireless and your connection will be better. I know from experience that gaming on wifi is no fun

Toss it out the window xD lol

My mom would never allow me to do that. I could try and convince her to move the router back upstairs though. And I have pretty good wifi, even when it's wireless.

I don't know if your mom will let you ( mine didn't), but you can run a cable of similar colour to the wall and attach it using cable clips and hot glue. It looks neat and then you can spend the money on a better mobo or more RAM or something
