JoaoPRSousa

So, I have a friend that needs a new PC for gaming and general use. And with his budget, this his what I'd. Keep in mind that I'm from Portugal and pricing is different from the US and all.

BTW the RAM, PSU (XFX TS450W), RX 460 and HDD I chose are the cheapest you can get here. So, no point in changing that to something cheaper to spend more on something else.

What changes would you make?

Also, should he go for i3 + some other GPU, or keep it as is?

This part list totals at 580€, but, changing the i5 to an i3 6100, and the RX 460 to a GTX 1060, totals at 30€ more (610€)...

Opinions on monitors and shit are needed xD

Thanks in advance.

Decent build. He will be able to play all the games with lowered settings :)

Get dual channel memory (two sticks of 4GB), a WD blue drive, it's only $3 more, and get a 1050 for 10%-20% better performance.

i5-6600k (4.6) | Dark Rock 3 | MSI GAMING X 1060 6GB | 8GB DDR4 | 120GB SSD & 1TB HDD | Crystal 460x

i think i3+1050ti or i3+470 is a good option too. 460 will struggle a bit when u play AAA titles in 1080p imo.

What about i3 + 1060? Is it too unbalanced?

Some newer titles, such as GTA V and others, use a lot of CPU power. It's always better to get an i5 rather than an i3. Also, an i5-6500 is worth the extra cost over the i5-6400.

Of course, it depends upon what games he plays, but I'd rather have smooth game play with lowered graphics.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD
