extract hp oem key for windows 10?

Hi I am wondering is their any way to extract hp oem key for windows 8.1? I have ssd that I want to install windows 10 on it? Is their any software that can extract and import a key back in to my laptop?

If you have 8.1, you can't get w10. Run produkey on the laptop to get the key.

Windows will auto-detect your key stored in the system and activate.

That said, your key is Windows 8.1, not Windows 10. And the free upgrade offer has ended. So you need to buy Windows 10.

I am not doing a free upgrade as I have a new ssd no os. I plan on installing fresh windows 10 but need the key to activate it. Can any one help get the key?

You have to buy the key. You don't have to activate it. Just loose some features until you can afford it.

You MUST buy a Win 10 key you do not have a win 10 key you only have 8.1.

So I have to upgrade then through the windows?

Maybe. Laptop manufacturers tend to make it so that the key is locked and you can't reuse it. This said, since you are going to use it on the same laptop it still may work.

In theory, you could use that windows 8.1 code to activate any Windows 8.1. However, it will deactivate the current product that it is installed to. If in the case that says this code is "already in use", you can call Microsoft and they will deactivate the old Windows and give you a new code to work with the new windows.
