Upgrading my gaming rig components

Hi everyone

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and GPU. Do I have to upgrade my motherboard for the new upgrades to fulfill their potential? I have a budget of £650 and was hoping to play games like Battle Field 1 on maxed settings

My current system and what I'm looking to buy:

CPU: Intel i5-4670 to i5-6500
GPU: GTX 760 to GTX 1070
MBO: GA Z87-HD3 upgrade needed? open to suggestions
RAM: I'm currently running CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 and I was going to buy another set of these to make it up to 16gb.

Am I on the right track here and worth upgrading?

My case is Cool master N600
Power supply is be quiet! 530W 80+ Certified ATX

I hope this is enough information and any advise or recommendation would be much appreciated, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you in advance for all the answers.

Stick with i5 4670. You need a new motherboard if you want to get i5 6500 and the performance is minimal and not worth the money spent so no stick with 4670

PSU is fine for now. I would get a 1060 6GB or RX480 8GB instead. 1070 will be bottlenecked even if you have a 6500

Really all it needs is a gpu upgrade, consider getting a ssd if you don't have one they really help with boot times.

Dont upgrade to skylake from Haswell, performance increase will be minimal. Dont bother with a 1070 unless you have a high refresh rate monitor or your playing at 1440p+. A 1060/480 will be fine for 1080p.
