I don't know if this is allowed on the forums but

 

Whats your favorite type of external/portable storage? SD cards, USB, external SSD/HDD, etc.

Also which do you least like?

External SSDs are probably the best because there are no moving parts to break and they're pretty small, or any SSD with a USB hotswap works too. Flash drives are pretty good since you can find them in 128GB+ now, and I don't mind USB 2.0 speeds for the price. External HDDs are probably the cheapest per gigabyte but most corruptable since you have to store them correctly and make sure they don't fall or get hit or anything

 

[edit] and the only use I can find for SD cards/microSD cards are for cameras. Still a good use though

Fav.: USB Thumb drives: small, easy to use, reasonably fast

Least Fav.: SD cards: You need a reader to use them

Sorry if I have this wrong, but don't you also need a reader to use a USB? Or are you just talking about how USB ports are more common than SD card ones

You need a USB port to use a USB. I have never seen any (reasonably old) pc without a USB port.

There are seperate readers (or slots) for SD cards. You can bring an adapter to USB, but why not use a USB thumb drive then?

almost every system has usb and the needed drivers to use usb storage

 

SD cards aren't on most systems, and most sd slots are just a usb to sd chip.

I prefer SD sometimes just because it fits in a wallet, but I use to be a big fan (And I still am) of USB.
