Hey Guys!

So I'm looking to RGB my case (currently red), My problem is that the only rgb strips available in NZ are Deepcool RGB 350's, which are only 300mm. I have Zalman z11 plus (http://www.zalman.com/contents/products/view.html?no=334) and I'm wanting to not only light up the internal components but also the top fins and if possible the front fan area. So I guess my question is can I use multiple strips and IR receivers from one remote? Any ideas? Much appreciated!

I use a 1m strip to light up my case. no need for multiple strips unless you want your case to look like a Xmas tree. Your case doesn't have a huge window anyway

You do have options, NZ websites don't list their entire inventory online. I recently purchased a Phanteks one that matched my case; i had to do a search by manufacturer to find it; it wasn't categorized.

You can always go on aliexpress to find stuff like RGB LEDs

I'm pretty sure there are a couple options for multiple strips, can't remember off hand as I had to keep myself from looking to hard at it (so much money would vanish if I got started)

But I think the NZXT hue+ give's the best control over multiple strips, in comparison everything else has simple preset's.

Nothing wrong with the preset's but the hue+ is the pinnacle of current rgb strip customization.

I have the cablemod rgb setup and I believe it can handle 4 strips which is enough for basically any case.

The RGB rabbit hole goes deep, it's pretty new but there is a lot emerging.  corsair has their new RGB fan series wich is AMAZING.

One reason I have held off is there is nothing universal, you can't get your RGB keyboard, mouse, fan's and strips to work together.  Again that's because it's a budding technology.  If there was a standard behind all of it I would save up and go bonkers on it.

So the general idea is if you want RGB right now, I would find something that meet's your needs IE: multiple strip's with a remote.  If you're looking for the best you'll spend a ton of money and be let down as the market improves.  So I would suggest the cablemod's RGB strips with remote.

edit: I have seen little snippit's here and there about CAM software...... something to look into, but I'm not sure what it is.

Audio go Brrrrrr

Yeah thanks :)

I had a look around. Mighty ape has the same as PBtech (which is cheaper there and is about to have a black friday sale) but unfurtunately and extremely rarely the computer lounge has an even worse selection than the others.

I have a case that I run two of them in for a total of 4 LED strips.

The Deepcool RGB 350 are great for the price.

One controller can control both units.

Oh yeah? Works just fine with the one remote aye? In time n' all?

You can run all those LED strips off a single controller as those usually have a rating of almost 6Amps for the large units which can easily do an entire 5m roll of LED's.

Just daisy chain them together to form a longer strip if they have connectors on the ends or get splitters online as they use the standard SMD5050 LED's which are ubiquitous. If you don't mind doing some DIY work you can also get a kit that cut and wire to length yourself.

Ok, thanks! I'll see if I can find some splitters online. Trouble is I'd rather not wait a month for them to arrive from China.
