Cannot click links in emails

I use outlook and gmail and I noticed a while back that I couldn't click links directly. What I mean by this that I would click a link and nothing would happen but if I right click and open it in a new tab it would work. I use chrome

I think I should be able to easily open a link just by clicking it

It will be a safety measure implemented by email client configuration or your anti-virus software configuration.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Never click links in emails.     Your software obviously agrees.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure I don't need to be worrying about links in emails from twitch or youtube
