i have seen that once on salazar studio(formerly known as science studio)

corsair link is software AFAIK so NZXT cam is the software used by the hue+, as of now it seems there is no competitor to the HUE+

and i assume if it does kill my system then NZXT is liable due to faulty software?

They could be liable but that doesn't mean they'd cover the costs of the rest of the system for you, probably just refund you for the hue itself.

hmmm, it sucks if they didnt :/

1. I'm planning to get hue+ in my system when i spring for LED's.

2. yes, there are some.

3. Very unlikely. they MAY work, but not the the same extent and functionality as you get with the NZXT designed strips

Do you know of alternatives to  NZXT HUE +

depends on what you're looking for. there are all sorts of LED strips out there and colour controllable LED strips. Cablemod, bitfenix, and tons of others. just google for that stuff. you'll find more than i can list in no time at all if you're willing to look.

Now if you're looking for a hub that has ALL of the features of the HUE+, that is much less common. I think Corsair link/commander has similar fan control and LED features, although not to the same extent. Not sure of the offerings from other companies, but i've also never really looked into it all that much. NZXT hue+ is kind of in a league of its own at the moment. anyone looking for advanced LED's for their case seem to all go for the HUE+ for its affordability, features, and software. I'm not sure why you would want something more than what it offers haha.

Looked at the liablity section of nzxt as well as the warranty. It's kinda of a grey area, though the wording is implying that if you use any nzxt products they will only cover nzxt brands that are damaged they won't cover any third party's parts. Though if the direct cause was proven that an nzxt product did cause damage to a system they will replace the system based on value. Only thread I could find that nzxt replaced a whole system is one someone bought a nzxt kraken and the tubes pop off and caused the whole system to be lost. The reason why they did it was found that it was a direct link with a manufactur defect With the fasiner that held the tube in place. So I mean long story short if the hue does screw up your system there maybe a small chance of them replacing the value of your pc

I know of absolutely ZERO SOFTWARE on the market that claims they will warrant anything arising out of the use of said software.

Pretty much every EULA out there specifically exempts the software developer/publisher from any and all liability resulting from the use of their software.

That said, some companies will go out of their way to ensure their software works as intended.

You would think though this is why I say it's kinda grey with nzxt. They do not specify, in terms of whether or not they cover mechanical failures or software failure, in terms of the item destroying your system. The liability, and not under the website use, says in short nzxt take responsibility for faulty product. But e. Tl dr

yes

corsair link has one but its not easy to find it and to expand it its hit or miss they have had 2 versions of it so far in the last few years

cablemods one but that you need to change by hand . aquacomputer has led strips that are usb contolled they cost more but up to i think 6ft of strips can be used . its farbware or something their controller .

you have to use nzxt only they are wired differently very . nzxt ones are cheap 25$ for 2 or 4 strips and extensions 300mm x 2 i think .

the only thing i say is buy it from amazon or a brick and mortar store with a instore warranty . my unit from amazon was defective killed my led strips  . my brand new RMA unit works happy as can be 24/7 for 3 months now
