AMD a6 apu, combeining cpu and gpu cores

Tim42

I have a amd a6 7470k apu but i don't need the 4 gpu cores because i have a dedicated graphics card. So i was wondering if there is a possibility that i could use all of those 4 gpu cores and 2 cpu combined as 6 core cpu. if its possible how and if its not why?

I'm not entirely sure there's a switch for changing the purpose of a core...

nope you cant just make a GPU a CPU

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Applications must support hardware acceleration to allow the GPU to accelerate CPU tasks, which is called heterogeneous computing, so to answer your question, no you cannot do that just out of the blue for everything. Applications must support it.
