Pre-built PC`s

Emils B

What would be the best pre-built pc which I could get for a reasonable price. I only have a crap laptop which cant run anything and dont have a large budget as well (~£500).

Get a full prebuilt from a real brand.  Places like iBUYPOWER and others charge so much more for service because they can't mass manufacture the computers.  Look at ASUS, MSI, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

Don't be. A computer is just a Lego set. Follow the instructions in the motherboard manual and you'll be fine.

Is this a gaming rig? Productivity? What's the primary function it will be used for?

If you need to shave off some cash, part ways with the Toshiba HDD and roll with just the SSD to start. You can always add bulk storage later, but moving your OS onto a new drive sucks. That Toshiba is a killer deal, though.

This can handle GTA V at ultra 1080p, I would think.

Well thanks, @aisle9 I`ll think about that

No worries. If you need to shave off a little more cash, stepping down to an RX 470 makes sense, but my theory on gaming PCs is that you pick a GPU and build around it. 480 seemed like a natural fit here. :)

@aisle9 how well do you think it could be overclocked?

The CPU is locked and can't be overclocked. Overclockable CPUs and Z170 motherboards would launch your budget up into the 700GBP range pretty quickly.

From what I've read, RX 480s tend to be pretty solid overclockers. See below.

If all you're doing is gaming, the stock frequency of the 6100 should be plenty. My main HTPC rig is an i3-6100, and I never once had an issue with it running games like Kerbal Space Program, Overwatch, Skyrim (with crazy mods) or Far Cry 4 (with crazy low resolution).

@aisle9 also the total is 513.84 if you don`t count the hdd

If 500 is a very hard cap and you don't even have 13GBP wiggle room, I'd lose the SSD and keep the HDD. That's a really good value on 2TB, but your boot and load times will suffer. If you can find the extra 13GBP, I'd keep the SSD.

@aisle9 so how long do you think this pc would be able to hold up like years with all new games coming out

You're set for a good while. Here's why:

Upgrade path. The i3-6100 is the base-level Core CPU for Skylake. Ivy Bridge i7-3770 CPUs, which are (don't count Broadwell) two generations behind are selling on UK eBay for 152GBP. If you hang in there with the 6100 for a couple of years, you can snag a used i7-6700 (or i7-7700) off of eBay and buy your CPU two or three more years past that. By the time your i3 is showing its age, you'll be able to just drop a locked Skylake or Kaby Lake i7 in there in its place.

GPU. The RX 480 will be a solid 1080p card for at least a couple of years, probably longer. An RX 470 or GTX 1050 Ti might not have that same longevity.

and also @aisle9 what about cooling

The stock cooler that comes with the i3-6100 is fine. For the most part, you only need aftermarket cooling if you're overclocking.
