DNS not found

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

try setting your dns servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in control panel

Hi guys,

A few weeks ago i started getting a problem where when i open (type in url and hit enter) a website, let's say youtube, facebook or sometimes even google i get an error saying "DNS of the server of website not found". I use google chrome which is set in Dutch so the translation might not be 100% accurate. This also happens in other browsers and on my laptop as well as on my PC. I live in a student building where i get an ethernet cable to my room coming from a splitter, and then i use that ethernet cable for my own personal router. As the problem is persistent over both of my computers, i ruled them out as being the issue.

Google is your friend in these situations, but i really got no where. Does someone have a clue of what the hell is going on, it's really annoying to constantly have to reload pagea about 10 times until the DNS error message goes away.

Thanks in advance! :D

If that doens't help, could be a router/modem issue.  Could need a update or reset, otherwise the ISP could be contacted for troubleshooting. Can you switch the splitter and check all lines and cables? Tenminste als je daar toegang toe hebt :)

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

Toegang heb ik sws :D but yeah router is running on it's latest update, if the problem still persists i will reset it and then look further into it depending on the outcome.
