Issues with the H170 Pro

Hey, having some slight difficulties with my reasonably new ASUS H170 Pro micro-ATX motherboard. Occasionally when I'm booting up my computer, it won't. I don't get the assuring POST beep from the onboard speaker, I don't get any display showing up on my monitor, and only one of the cooling fans spins. I've discussed the possibility of it being the PSU with my dad, who is a wizard, and he assures me it's much more likely to be the motherboard.
Any thoughts, tips or information that you can give me would be appreciated.
