Memory Brands

I do not know if a thread was made in the past that ranked the memory as far as reliability. I have only used Gskill in all my builds but was thinking about other brands for my next build. Corsair and Crucial look like good brands. Trying to open up to different brands that may have better value (ie cheaper) than Gskill and be just as reliable. Any suggestions.

Any name you recognize is probably pretty good.  Kingston, Corsair, etc.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Thanks dont know if November is going to have good deals on memory but 90US for 2x8GB memory @ 2400 seems kinda high to me. More brands means more options :P

Out of the brands that have come up so far in this thread, crucial and kingston would have the more budget RAM, as well as higher priced RAM too of course, was just mentioning that they do have lower priced RAM that generally has no heat sinks and flashy stuff :)

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.

I use Patriot ram LOL. It works just fine.

They don't get the attention they deserve. I mean, they've been around for more than a decade. They're competitively priced.

Actually u can even use VALUE ram for gaming and it will be fine.

But it lack of fancy stuff like heatsink or glowing light or whatever it is.
A huge brand like corsair, they didnt make ram by the way..actually they didnt make anything at all.
and kingston,ocpc,gskill,v-gen,hynix,samsung,team,etc will do just fine. and everyone of em has its own class from value to gamer/enthusiast.

Does corsair make anything lol

You're probably more likely to get struck by lightning than encounter bad RAM. Just buy whatever is priced well, fits your aesthetics and has a lifetime warranty.
