Looks good, the Z170 board isn't necessary without a K CPU, but the price is right.

When in doubt, re-format.

Change the Z board to a H, drop the CPU cooler, don't need it with a locked CPU, if you're going to go up that high, get the 1060. If you're going to get a 480, get the cheapest 8GB version. Also, get the MX300 over the 750.

The price is pretty good on the mobo and if I want to upgrade the CPU in the future it is an option. I would rather have an overclockable board with a locked CPU than an unlocked CPU with a nonoverclockable board.

What about a mastercase 5 instead of Phanteks.

I boycot the 1060 and the CPU stock cooler is pretty useless. I'll check the mx300. Thank you for your input .

Stock one is fine for any locked CPU, with the possible exception of the i7 series. If you're that adamant about it, then either switch to the H7 which'll do better than the 212, or just get a TX3. And I prefer the 480 myself, but if you're going to get it, get the cheapest 8GB version.

The non-overclocking mobo you gave him is a full $25 more than the overclocking one. This is why OP chose the Z series in the first place...

When in doubt, re-format.

Oops, didn't even notice that...

@Cla55ifi3xd as he said, get the Z board with whatever option you choose.

I'm planning on running mods on fallout and skyrim at 1080p that's why I went for an 8gb 480. Also the blower style cards are usually louder. Power color and gigabyte have some bad reviews if any one has seen a good review of a different card for cheeper or same price let me know.

Powercolor is fine. The only 2 manufactures you have to look out for for AMD are ASUS and Gigabyte, and Gigabyte's shaped up pretty well. The bad reviews for Powercolor are most likely singular units in the bunch.

There is a pcb breakdown of the powercolor and they use under spec vrms. Also jay has a video on the g1 gameing.

The only thing I'd suggest is checking out Jayz2cents RX480 videos. He's done reviews on quite a few of them, and there was one in particular that was head and shoulders above the rest. I just can't remember which one it was.

They're loud, and the cooling isn't that great. Plus since he'll be dumping more heat into the case with the graphics card, it'll be working harder. On top of it all, there's a little thing called aesthetics. He does have a window, after all. No need to look at ugly.

I boycot the 1060 for two main reasons. One nvidia removed sli for no other reason then two 1060s would perform close to a 1080. Two they actually shaved cores for the 3gb version. The 1060 is like nvidias they will buy it anyway junk drawer.
