Best classic prank IMO is to take a screenshot without any applications running, set that up as the background, hide the desktop icons and gadget and then hide the taskbar. ;)

Oh, is this not tech related?

 

and that's a good one I've been seeing a lot, are there any others that are maybe more irritating than others?

Take out CTRL cap, put something in so it would always be pressing, but back the cap. Poor soul will be confused every time he tries to scroll in web and it keeps zooming in and out
