I love Apple but sadly this is just the sadest thing I ever saw as a technology developtment. I am sure they will use it for the next generations aswel but after that gen, it will stop because they will know it sucks green orc balls.

I know they want to be "different".

I always supported them when they got ride of the headphone jack on the iphone7 and all kind of plugins on laptops...but this is just a desperate way to do something in my opinion...

Have you used it before?

Oh right. No one has.

NOW, if you wanted to be disappointed about the lack of tech specs and how a $4200 mac book "pro" has 16 gb of ram and a 460 gpu... THAT is a different story.

I dont need to use it.

The trailer gives me enough info.

Who the hell would use this?

I am sure you will be faster using your mouse for onscreen kliks rather then that crappy touch bar.

Is this made for people who dont use mouse? lol

Who doesn't use a mouse? What else can you use on a mac? Telekinesis?

Touch bar is additional form of input that can be customized to the user and the software he is using. It's pretty cool but it all depends on its implementation, which is something we know very little about at this point. There is a lot of promise but time will tell. I for one can see the benefit of using it with MS office where you can type and change formatting on the fly without moving your hands from the keyboard.

why do you even care? It is not like their laptops live up to the pro name.

No USB type A

No mini DP

No SD card slot

More shallow keyboard

Dual core in 13inch

max 16gb of ram

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

I care because i wanted to support Apple because they innovate the future. Touch bar being an exception.

Ur right, nothing pro here sadly...

its like apple is making their laptops only for photoshop and video editor people which is a very small % of the people who actually buy it.

i wanted to buy my first apple laptop so badly. But the hardware in it can be found on 500$ laptops aswel :/

I would use it.  The idea of dedicated media controls is something I find lacking in too many keyboards never mind laptops.  You could map shortcuts to various programs, or other fun things.  Imagine being able to skip a song without having to click through a few windows.  Imagine moving your finger 2 inches, and hitting next.  In the end my function keys are closer to my fingers then the mouse is.  Reminds me a bit of my old HP laptop with a touch based media controls just above the keyboard.

My issues with this device boil down to price and lack of upgrade options to the user.

Getting ride of the headphone jack on the mobile phone is a huge + for all of us.

If it werent for Apple we would still be stuck with those for another 10 years.

Getting ride of laptop plugins is also a huge step forward. Make everything USB-C. This is the future.

If it was for the rest we would still use VGA lol

Um in what way? Audio is analogue and they weren't the first to get rid of it. You are not getting higher audio quality just by removing it, you are just moving the DAC and amp out of the phone, it does not equal to better audio quality and it just fucks over the high end marked if they try to bring it there.

Yes USB-C is kinda the future still many problems with it and not a good thing to only do right now. No you are giving apple wayyy too much credit
