Looks like the VP500PC is the same internally as the original CX500 since they're both made by CWT and rated for the same watts on the 12V. Given that the CX430M is better but not by a lot. I would still get it anyway but the VP500PC is a fine PSU to get as well.

You're trying to argue at me with a thread that I help manage :P

There's a bit of a confusion in the Antec VP line that perhaps should be clarified in the PSU Tier List. The Basiq VP series has many platforms made by many OEMs, and they rank as follows:

VP No Suffix, VP-P (exceptions apply), Tier 6

VP-F, VP550P, VP650P, VP-PC, Tier 5

These ratings are rough but to be fair the Antec VP lineup is a fucking mess.

The VP500PC uses the GPA platform, the CX430 uses the DSAIII platform.

IIRC the DSAIII platform is a little better.

Thanks for clearing it up, by the way where do you find this out? lol

Well point is, the statement of the CX430 being way better isn't really true, it's only just better.

Yeah they're both still low-end group regulated units with not so good capacitors. CX450M would be way better.
