It's people like this who hold back on everybody getting Gigabit

TopWargamer

My point is Gigabit would be good for everyone.

No, it won't. If you're going to install a gigabit connection then it'll only be installed on the major cities. Meanwhile, everyone who doesn't live ina  major city will have a 2 megabit connection because the money that should have been used to improve those connections is now being used for the gigabit one. This is not some imaginary world where resources are limitless.

implying the government/huge companies can't spare money lol. they're just to dam stubborn receiving completely over-priced paymenys from customers for terrible speeds

I'm sure it could happen easily if the companies gave a dam, but they don't

If they do invest in upgrading to a gigabit connection then they'll need to make the internet much more expensive to cover the cost. I doubt that many people would be willing to upgrade from 100mbits so in order for it to be viable the prices would need to be incredibly high. So in the end you get expensive internet in the big cities and extremely crappy internet anywhere else.

I partially agree with that 1gbit is not needed right now....better than what you guys have in the US is needed though....

I would say what is needed now is between 30-40mbit, for every 2 years i would had a further 10mbit  for the increase in file sizes we need to download.

But i would say now is the time to get the infrastructure in place for 1gbit, as i feel it would create jobs, and help stimulate the worlds economy.
