I would recoomend the rx 480 8gb. You will be able to max out every single game at 1080p.

Also- get a t3 PSU from this list

a 1060 or rx480 would bottleneck with that cpu. You'd only be able to use a rx460, maybe a rx470 at its full potential.

Don't worry about bottlenecks -_-

Not much point buying a gpu thats 2x the cost if it isnt going to be fully used though :P
I made the mistake of getting an xfx rx480 gtr, 8gb version, with my A8-7650k. it severely bottlenecks the 480, and this cpu isnt much faster than mine.

rx470 then or even a 1050ti might be what you need, it can run 1080p on high in a few games, if you're only wanting medium that would be worth checking out

Bottlenecks depend entirely on applications. There are a wide variety of applications that will work fine with his config. The rx480 is the suite spot for value, and cheaper cards won't last as long. While I agree that a CPU upgrade is in order, OP shouldnt limit his selection based on a meaningless term like bottleneck.

Thats true.

OP will you do anything other than play games? recording/editing/rendering etc? if you were to get a 480, a cpu upgrade would be needed.

Idk why yall suggest the 480, probably due to it being slightly cheaper. but really the op is not going to use 8gb of vram on a 1080p gaming. unless you insanely install 8k-10k high resultion texture packs on skyrim but than your cpu will be the issue at that point. get the 1060 its slightly better than the 480 and its a very good card for the 1080p gaming. I do suggest however to upgrade your cpu, ram, and mobo, to a skylake or soon to be kabylake i5.

No, it's probably your best option

APU: AMD A10-7850K cooled by an NH-L12; PSU(going to upgrade sooner or later):  Antec VP450P;RAM: 2x4GB HyperX Savage 2133MHz; MOBO: Asus A68HM-Plus; CASE: Itek [something] ; HDD: WD Blue 1TB(WD10EZEX)

OS: Triple boot openSUSE Leap Debian Jessie and Windows 10(aka MSX)

Dont be worried about the system being bottlenecked tbh if anything no matter what gpu "you" will get, that is form this current gen, it will be restricted by that apu. your friend is better off getting a good powerful card and later upgrading the cpu, mobo, and ram.

I highly doubt the 460 will be bottlenecked though

that is the best advice in this whole thread tbh. It makes no sense to judge your gpu selection on the basis of it not being bottlenecked. you are better off like @bgibbz said you are better off getting a better card than a cheaper one. the 460 wont last you for a bit... a 470, 480, or a 1060, will last you long enough so that you can worry about upgrading your cpu, ram, and mobo, later on. It will give you breathing space for upgrading.
