Right now im very unsure about selling the PG278Q G-sync and then buying a MG279Q Freesync model with IPS and matching it with a 1070.. Yes i know.. No freesync/G-sync compability.. But honestly it is a bit overrated. Especially at 144hz+

+ i get warranty again.

Also i get good value out of the screen if i sell it.. in fact.. i make 200NOK on selling it for 4000NOK. so i only need 1500NOK  for the IPS screen. G-sync is too expensive!

I think thats too good value to pass up on. What do you guys think?

Nvidia is loosing out.. If i had a AMD GPU alternative (RX490 etc) i would have jumped on the opportunity.

Also.. main reason im switching GPU is because i want the silent fans.. Noise has become a big deal for me. The good old GTX 680 still pulls CSGO up to 200fps+ 144 stable with G-sync.

It will be nice finally trying out witcher with acceptable framerates tho. :D

How do i set up a custom fan profile? what software do i need?

Edit: The CPU fan is run of bios. MOBO supports fanless mode. runs on 2% now. Silent as a ninja. GPU runs MSI afterburner, pretty silent that too with no fan mode most of the time.

Still need to do some improvement as i have no fans for the cabinet running. Need a 200mm fan that runs really quiet.

Waited to black friday and sat up to 00.00 And as soon as black friday was a go i bought the PG278QR for 5000NOK.. i only spent 800NOK ekstra on a new screen with warranty :D Shops in Norway have not really gotten around to dumping the prices on the older model so i was lucky i got as much as i did for the old bugger.

No dead pixels. No issues what so ever. It is also a tiny bit  upgraded. there is a HMDI now and a FPS counter..  Spec does not tell it all. This one is so bright i tuned it down..  Me happy. 165Hz no problems, war games ala. Warthunder with movie settings is really smooth.

Imo. Mousepads are something you can "cheap out" on. You get a fine looking, high quality, giant mousepad on ebay for less than what a medium sized logitech, steelseries or corsair mousepad costs.

Currently using this one. It works just fine.

Yes i have bougth some crap in the past.. But that was not cloth but "teflon" coated steelplates and stuff. Then you kinda have it coming. :P

Allright folks. I think it is time to build a new setup. A smaller setup, a setup as small as possible. The HW is the same mostly if possible? but i need a new motherboard i think. Having had some issues with sound out and so on.

Now the big challenge i guess is the CPU cooler. So if anyone knows you can fit a Noctua NH-D15 in some mini cabinet that would be great. I guess where looking at Mini ATX motherboards? I will never run SLi and im fine with regular SSD for some time ahead.
