I was looking at replacing my current AM3+ rig and researched parts for my new build.  However, I noticed rumors and articles posting about how PCI-E gen 4 will increase bandwidth speed by double compared to pci-e 3.0.  Should I wait to build my rig and get pci-e 4; or is it not worth waiting for?

"Hyper Demon" Build:

pci-e v3.0 is 985 MB/s per lane ... that's plenty.

pci-e v4.0 doubles the bandwidth to almost 2GB/s per lane. It's barely standardized and first products are going to show up in 2017 ... AM4 is still v3.0 and that's going to be with up for a few years. Intel's unlikely to rush up to make new chipsets and processors as long as they're in front of AMD ..

So don't wait for pci-e v4.0
