check to make sure fan isn't turned off or in silent mode. my rx 470 fans stays at 20% even at idle so it might have to do that.

Either fans aren't spinning or the cooler isn't on right.

No, Gigabyte's cooler for the AMD cards is garbage.

They did though, they only offer the Windforce cooler on AMD. Windforce is decent on NVidia GPUs, because they tend to have lower temps at full load (also can't survive as much torture), but when it comes down to it, the Windforce cooler isn't really that good.

The cooler on the Gaming X 470 we both have, on the other hand, is quite beefy, and can keep AMD cards under reasonable temperatures.

my GPU reaches 70 C on while running Firestrike 1.1, I guess it's decent.

I heard though that gigabyte' windforce cooler is supposedly really good though at keeping low temps. Correct or wrong? Because if i just looked at a windforce card, it'd look strong

idk what happened in the 4xx video cards but gigabyte is ass at cooling them. Worse than that of the reference design. Other Manufacturers don't seem to have this issue.

Correct for NVidia, wrong for AMD.

I also see mid 60s running anything that puts the card at full load, and 72c for a modest overclock.

they probably shun AMD :(

good thing XFX is the leading after-market design thing :)
