Hi all,

One of my friends gave me an old laptop that has a bad hard drive in it. It is a 1 TB WD Blue 2.5". When I plug it into another computer it gives me ~180 GB readable. I ran it through HDD Regenerator and have had no luck fixing the bad sectors. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this or is it just dead?

Thanks!

Do you want the data or do you want it fixed.

Your not fixing it.

For data, if you care about it, don't touch it and send it to a data recovery place, if you want to do this for run, make a image with ddrescue then use a program like photorec to get the files.

Alright, thanks! I will have to ask if he does indeed want his data super bad.
