Posted October 28, 2016 So I am booting up the new skyrim and when I launch the window it doesn't scale to my monitor right. So I go into the options and try to change the resolution to fit my screen. I have an old monitor that is a 1280x1040, but in the slider there are no options for this. Please help I haven't the faintest clue of what to do.

Posted October 28, 2016 i had some similar issues with my triple screen setup. I found that the best thing at the time was to run it in windowed mode and then drag the window until it hit the top of the screen and windows would automatically detect that i wanted that window to be full screen. If that doesn't work there is one more thing you could try

Am I doing something wrong? If not, what is the other option?
Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) it only work on windows 7 and up to my knowledge but i have to go in a few minutes so ill just give you the other option. launch skyrim through steam or whatever so that you can change the game to run in full screen mode exit skyrim go into the folder where skyrims data is stored, usually (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim) then go into the folder named skyrim and there should be a file called SkyrimPrefs, open it with your favorite flavor of text editor. Notepad will be fine make a copy of that file and put it somewhere incase this doesnt work so you can replace the edited one you are about to make about 10 lines down there will be [Display] under that a ways (like 40 more lines) you should find iSize H= and iSize W= set those to iSize H=1040 and iSize W=1280 save it Boom done and i forgot to quote.... well im off to work Edited October 28, 2016 by Numbafieve forgot to quote
