When I am at home at my desk, I use ethernet 98% of the time.  When I'm anywhere BUT my desk, I use WiFi.

kk, i don't think docks will reduce ethernet speed, as USB type C has a maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps ;p

Hello.  I currently have an Alienware 15 R3 and was wondering if I could buy one dock that I could connect all of my desk stuff to, and only use my TB3 port.

This is what I had in mind- https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Charging-MacBook-ChromeBook-Aspire/dp/B01DTQZTX4/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1477619224&sr=8-10&keywords=usb+c&refinements=p_89%3AAukey

Problem is, I don't know if this would bottleneck my wireless card(Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1).  I love my speeds as they are and don't want to bottleneck them.

So, would it slow down my ethernet speed AT ALL?

And, are you not using Wifi with that card?

Usb c may have a bandwidth of 10Gbps, but not usb 3.0, which will only be a 5gbps for each device, and less if you have three or more devices working concurrently.

yeah no probs my dude ;) 1gbps internet? where the hell do you live, must be paying mad $$$ for that dank fuel

Well I got that fiber stuff connected to my house instead of something like Whisper, so I can get MLG level shit

it's pretty dank.  While I pay a pretty penny for it, it's really nice with what I use the internet for.  My old Inspiron couldn't really use its full potential so I got a whole computer-made sure it had Killer Wireless.  Also got a rlly dank router- Asus RT-AC88U

10/10 Would download GTA 5 in under 5 minutes
