I want to build a pc for the first time and I spend a lot of time figuring out which parts to use for my gaming/ game development rig, ( nothing to crazy )

I'd like to get some feedback like, ''i dont need so many watts from the PSU'' or ''that part doen't fit in there''  something like that.

So, Im building this pc in the Netherlands so the given prices are of course in euro's

- NZXT S340 special edition           89,90

- Intel core I5-6600K                      € 248,99

- ASUS ROG GTX 1060 6GB OC   345.90

- MSI Z170-A-PRO motherboard    107,95

- Kingston HyperX savage 8GB ram (kit of 1)   40.93

- WD 1TB storage                           52.37

- Kingston SADnow 240GB sdd      66.95

- Corsair RM550x psu                     93.30

total    1.046.26 or $ 1.142,55

so guys on what could i save some money or do I need to change some parts

( monitor and such is relevant right now, those will be changed with time )

The majority of that build looks fine, although isn't that GTX 1060 a tad overpriced? Are there any cheaper alternatives?

And don't get that SSD (I'm assuming it's the V300). The Crucial MX300 275GB would be a great choice if it's available.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I would recommend adding one more 8GB RAM and putting in a more powerful power supply, you could go up to 700W+ to really make sure everything gets what it needs.

I agree about RAM. Get 2x8GB.

About PSU ... you have more than enough. Your system won't even pull 300W, so that 550W is more than enough.

I would also change ssd to samsung evo 850 250gb. It costs more, but much better performance and life span.

Like 300% better performance mate!

I would try to get 16Gb of ram instead of 8Gb, you could probably find a cheaper 1060 also (Not the 3Gb).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

thanks for the feedback!

I looked for the availability of the parts and found this,

the cheapest 1060 (with 6GB) is the inno3d gtx 1060 6GB twin x2 for  €280.95, if I compare it with the strix I'd rather spend 60 more to get the strix one

the 2 pieces of ram would be the G.Skill Ripjwas v FV-2800C15D-16VR for  77.99

and the recommended samsung 850 ssd 250gb is also availible

the price difference between a 1 tb and 2 tb harddrive is only  15

so i would pick Toshiba DT01AC200 2tb

ok thats all fine but, am I going to encounter some big problems with this build or did I actually pick some decent parts as for someone that never build a pc. :)
