So, I am looking for a cheap build to get me jump started. Here are the parts that I chose out, will they work with each other?

AMD Athlon 5350 Quad Core 2.05 GHZ CPU
4 GB Crucial DIMM 240-pin
WD Blue 500GB 3.5" HDD
ASUS AM1M-A MicroATX motherboard
Thermaltake TR2 600W PSU
Radeon HD 5450 2GB GPU

I know it doesnt have good specs, though I cant afford much and this is just an experiment for experience

Go to www.pcpartpicker.com, choose your country and select those parts for your build, it will tell you if there is a conflict etc.

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.

I would spend about 20 bucks more to get the newer Pentium G4400 which is about 2 times as fast. Other than that, everything is fine, though your PSU is really sketchy.

i5-8600K -  Asus Strix Z370E - Asus GTX 1060 Strix - EVGA 650W P2 - Samsung 970 Pro 500GB - G.Skill TridentZ 16GB

What were you asking then?

You asked if these parts would work together in your first post... and now you're saying you've built this.

Confused!!

Ahh I see, the way you phrased it looked to me like you said you had built the computer with those parts and it wasn't a problem. Better to have put something like ( I put those parts into the website and no incompatabilities were found" just FWIW :)

looking at your other thread im guessing your budget is $250~? should have posted a budget and let other people help you make a build. like you don't need a 600W psu. i have no idea what you can build with that much but im sure someone in this forum can.

WD Blue 500GB 3.5" HDD

IMO stay away from WD blue, get a smaller but better quality drive

4 GB Crucial DIMM 240-pin

Well I feel like this would be much better, and you can stay with it for a while.

You might no need the cooler, but in my experience, APUs run a little hot with the stock cooler.

Base total: $284 USD

After Rebate: $264 USD

As I said, this will be a experiment. Maybe upgraded a bit later on

That build can't really be upgraded without redoing the whole system.

Yes, I know, I would have to get a whole new stick of ram sense the APU only supports uni channel

APUs really love fast RAM and prefer dual channel for that 1-3 extra frames.

Yea I know, that is the reason my laptop is slow

I have 4 GB of RAM (3.45 usable) that is 800 MHz, this laptop was being sold BY HP as a high end laptop.

And it is running a AMD APU 6310

Wait what are you trying to do then? Are you wanting to build something or not? Building a computer is easy, just watch a couple of build guides and go from there. You came to the right place for help, so that is good.

Of course I want to build something.

I am trying to do a youtube channel (Lucas The Derpy Sloth)

Play Unturned (which this runs at 20 FPS)

And Skyrim (I think this can)

But yea, this laptop was for my 11th birthday 2 years ago.

It is old, clunky, and was a straight up rip off for $500

Oh god, I feel sorry for you.

Again, going with this is much better than what you had.

With this, it is much better when adding a budget graphics card. (Wow that was bad english) That 5350 may be a quad core, but it will be a very severe bottleneck when upgraded with a graphics card.
