Best anti-virus?

Yeah I know people ask this all the time but I just want a quick simple answer.

 

I know there is no "best" antivirus but I used to use AVG and it never shut off my PC for no reason or slowed it down. However, now it makes you install a bunch of useless components that I don't want like identity protection. 

 

I do not want to use two programs like an anti virus and whatever the other thing is. AVG did everything I need but now it's bad so I just want a better replacement for that. I checked online too but I can't trust anything that recommends McAfee so I'd rather ask here.

currently using kaspersky, it is reliable and quite fast so i have no problem recommending it.
