Please recommend a 2560x1440p 144Hz monitor

Hey guys', so for Christmas I'm getting a new monitor. I want G-Sync but it's too damn expensive for me. I'm looking for like a 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor. FreeSync is welcome too although I plan on getting the 1080 Ti. Maybe if AMD ever releases a legitimate product, I will have that option (to use FreeSync. It's cheaper and an adaptive sync monitor is always there).

 

My limit is $500 USD. 

 

Oh oh one more thing... I want an IPS panel for dat beautiful color. :)

 

I don't have a preference in monitor manufacturers.

Before you say, 'ew, TN panel', this specific monitor's image quality is far superior than most TN monitors. Of course, not to the extent where it's as good as an IPS panel, but once you mess with the colour settings, it looks great.

 

Besides, 1440p, 144Hz and G-Sync? Bliss.

However the OP is lining up a 1080ti, otherwise it would be a great monitor.

 

if you can stretch i would grab a Asus PG278Q, yes its a tn panel, but on comparison reviews there's very little difference between this and its newer IPS sibling:

I was looking at that myself. What's the FreeSync range on that one? If anything, I could hold off on the Ti and see what AMD Vega 10 has to offer. If the range is good I may get that.

 

Edit: I mean, I have a GTX 1080. Not like it can't hold me over another 6-8 months or so. ?

The FreeSync range 30-90Hz.
